Because you have only 4 chances to get a wire in, breadboards are not much fun when it comes to data busses. You can cut up short leftover ribbon into data buses which are good for up to a few kilohertz on breadboard. Once your breadboard proto. flies its also easier to port it to a soldered board because the wirring is not spaghetti.
